Global Trade
Cascadia Center's trade work focuses broadly on bilateral and multilateral trade agreements and disputes, and more specifically on analysis and study of U.S.-Canada trade performance and investment flows, especially related to British Columbia.

Canada is a critical trade and strategic partner. Indeed, with bilateral trade at $1.5 billion per day, the U.S. and Canada have the world's largest bilateral trade relationship. In 2006, for example, Washington State had $6.2 billion in exports to our northern neighbor. Canada, which remains the leading export market for 39 U.S. states, is also the United States' leading provider of energy.

These and other factors make study of the U.S.-Canada relationship an important part of any comprehensive understanding of regional and national trade policies.
